The best advice: don’t take for granted the information on your W-2; check it carefully for errors and if you find any, there are action steps you can take. For example: What if there’s incorrect information on the W-2 you receive from your employer? In many cases, you can correct the information yourself. Here’s what to do if you find these mistakes:

I recd my W-2 and the state of my address is incorrect but the zip code is correct and box #15 box is also the wrong state, what do I need to do ![]() jwarner01 , 29 Mar 2009 15:22:40 GMT I have W-2`s from multiple states. I want to use the HR Block free file. Can I still use the free file? I also noticed one of my W-2`s were changed to my Colorado address instead of my Florida adress as that was where I was living. Can that be changed?
Thanks. ![]() brettr101 , 22 Mar 2009 22:19:01 GMT debsbugaboo - I sent your email address to our customer resolution team to reach out to help you with this issue.

H&R Block TaxCut ![]() David James , 16 Feb 2009 16:56:20 GMT I RECENTLY DID MY TAXES ON-LINE WITH H&R BLOCK, I HAVE DONE SO FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY SATISFIED, BUT THIS YEAR IN TRYING TO GET A JUMP ON THINGS I DID MY TAXES ON LINE WITH H&R BLOCK A FEW DAYS AFTER OBTAINING MY W2, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IT WAS INCORRECT. MY TAXES WERE ALREADY EXCEPTED AND NOW I HAVE TO OBTAIN A 1040X FORM TO CORRECT THE MATTER. MY COMMENT IS, I WAS A BIT DISAPPOINTED THAT THE ON-LINE PROGRAM DID NOT PICK UP THE DISCREPENCY WHEN PLACED ON THE FORM... THE OVERALL YEARLY WAGE WAS CORRECT, ON ONE LINE OF THE W2 AND AFTERWARDS I WAS TOLD BY OTHERS AT MY PLACE OF WORK THAT HAD USED TURBO TAX ON LINE THAT THEIR PROGRAM WOULD NOT LET THEM CONTINUE BECAUSE OF THE ERROR DETECTED.... I HOPE THAT H&R BLOCK WILL CHECK INTO THIS MATTER AND POSSIBLY BE ABLE TO DETECT SUCH ERRORS IN THEIR ON-LINE PROGRAM. I'AM CONSIDERING TRYING ANOTHER PROGRAM, BUT FIRST I WILL CONTACT AN H&R BLOCK REPRESENTITIVE TO SEE IF THEY WILL BACK UP THEIR PROGRAM AND HELP ME TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE DECIDING.
THANK YOU FOR ASKING FOR MY INPUT, DEBBIE ![]() DEBSBUGABOO , 12 Feb 2009 22:27:48 GMT More helpful information. Thanks! ![]() scarykaren , 15 Jan 2009 01:36:15 GMT
